Position title: Education Consultant
Reporting to: Deputy Executive Director
Location: North and North-West Tasmania
Purpose of the position
Independent Schools Tasmania (IST) is a non-profit organisation whose core purpose is to serve the independent schools of Tasmania through representation, advocacy and support.
The purpose of this position is to support schools to develop, maintain and enhance quality teaching, quality learning, empower school leadership and to meet student needs.
The schools to be supported and the areas of support will be as directed by the Deputy Executive Director, Independent Schools Tasmania.
Responsibilities & duties
Responsibility 1 – To support independent schools to implement education reform initiatives included in the Bilateral Agreement between the Commonwealth and Tasmanian governments.
Responsibility 2 – To support independent schools to implement education reform initiatives included in annual NGRSF work plan but not part of the Bilateral Agreement.
Responsibility 3 – To support independent schools in other programs funded by the Tasmanian State government.
Responsibility 4 – To assist the Deputy Executive Director to facilitate professional learning opportunities for independent school leaders and teachers.
Relationships
Details of relationships relevant to this role:
- The Deputy Executive Director will provide ongoing support and supervision.
- Collaborate with the IST Consultancy team.
- Build trust and respect of independent school leaders and teachers.
