Providing Professional Learning for Independent Schools across Tasmania.
IST Study Tour – Western Australia
The MIND Project is a comprehensive professional learning program designed to boost the skills of numeracy leaders and P–6 teachers. This P–6 math program is a cost-neutral whole-school approach that requires no out-of-school professional learning, with the exception of an optional one-day moderation opportunity to connect and network with other schools involved in the project. Through explicit instruction, evidence-based practices, data-informed teaching, and whole-school strategies, this program supports schools in achieving meaningful, long-term improvements in student mathematics outcomes.
Aligned with the AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers, the program ensures that educators are well equipped to deliver systematic, rigorous mathematics learning. As the Grattan Institute (2025) notes: “When maths is taught well, children and the nation benefit. But taught poorly, students are robbed of a core life skill.” This P–6 math program is a cost-neutral whole-school approach that requires no out-of-school professional learning, with the exception of an optional one-day moderation opportunity to connect and network with other schools involved in the project.

Join Independent Schools Tasmania (IST) for an inspiring two-day professional learning experience in Western Australia. This exclusive tour offers principals, school leaders, instructional coaches, and teacher leaders the chance to see evidence-informed, high-impact teaching practices in action across leading schools.
