Teachers will be guided by ACARA’s Curriculum and Assessment Specialist, Student Diversity, Patrick Kelly to explore ways to create inclusive learning environments that cater for the diversity of learners.

This includes exploring an overall approach to planning, teaching and managing the classroom that systematically takes into account individual students’ experiences, interests and abilities.

This session is for educators who would like to:

  • understand the intent of the three dimensions of the Australian Curriculum when planning for the diverse needs of learners
  • create a classroom culture that supports the diversity of learners
  • build their understandings of frameworks that support inclusive teaching and learning.

What you will learn

  • 1.5 Differentiate teaching to meet the specific learning needs of students across the full range of abilities
  • 4.1 Support student participation
  • 6.2 Engage in professional learning and improve practice
