Who is speaking
This session will unpack ways to plan for teaching, learning and assessment through making direct alignment to the Australian Curriculum, using a backwards planning approach.
Teachers will be taken through how to plan high quality lessons and units using a backwards planning approach. Time will be spent unpacking how to develop purpose, and approaches for teaching the curriculum in their context. The purpose of the session is for teachers to become aware of ways to intentionally achieve improved outcomes for students, aligning assessment through linkages between curriculum, pedagogy and reporting. Teachers will also be given opportunity to discuss the designing of assessment and create a shared understanding of the knowledge, skills and understandings we want students to be able to know and do. Lesson, unit and year level planning ideas will also be discussed and used.
