Encourage, inspire and enrich family and community involvement in the early years of schooling!
Building collaborative partnerships with families and communities is a crucial element in enhancing children's learning, inclusion and wellbeing in the early years of schooling. Join us as we examine how to: 1) Encourage authentic family engagement. 2) Identify and remove barriers to the creation of a genuinely inclusive learning environment. 3) Inspire and develop strong community links and engagement. 4) Enrich our classroom practices and support children to respect and value diversity.
What you will learn
- 1.3: Students with diverse linguistic, cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- 1.4: Strategies for teaching Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
- 1.6: Strategies to support full participation of students with disabilities.
- 2.4: Understand and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to promote reconciliation between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians.
- 3.7: Engage parents/carers in the education process.
- 6: Collaborative partnerships with families and communities
