Having a rich vocabulary is one of the key indicators of student success in school, and indeed, in life. Explicit vocabulary instruction provides a pathway to building both our students’ expressive (speaking and writing), and receptive (listening and reading) language skills.
This session will cover:
- Why explicitly teaching vocabulary is important
- What should be taught
- How to teach Vocabulary
- Some practical examples of Vocabulary activities that can be used in the classroom
