Cir­cu­lar Head Chris­t­ian School is a vibrant, inde­pen­dent, non-denom­i­na­tion­al Chris­t­ian School locat­ed in Smith­ton on the North-West Coast of Tasmania. 

With cur­rent enrol­ment num­bers of 275 stu­dents from Kinder to Year 12, we are a com­mu­ni­ty-cen­tred school with a heart for Jesus and our school families.

Mid­dle School Teacher

An excit­ing oppor­tu­ni­ty in our Mid­dle school (grade/​year 6 to 9) awaits a high­ly engaged teacher who is pas­sion­ate about stu­dents, their learn­ing and wellbeing. 

The suc­cess­ful appli­cant will be respon­si­ble for cre­at­ing a pos­i­tive learn­ing envi­ron­ment, incor­po­rat­ing bib­li­cal threads in the cur­ricu­lum and be com­mit­ted to build­ing and main­tain­ing rela­tion­ships with stu­dents and their families.

The suc­cess­ful applicant/​s will be respon­si­ble for:

  • Teach­ing Human­i­ties sub­jects and or oth­er fields of spe­cial­ty by negotiation.
  • Deliv­er­ing lessons incor­po­rat­ing teach­ing of bib­li­cal per­spec­tives in each sub­ject area.
  • Prepar­ing cur­ricu­lum doc­u­ments includ­ing scope and sequence and unit plans.
  • Deliv­er­ing and assess­ing lessons aligned with the Aus­tralian Cur­ricu­lum V9 in a mean­ing­ful and engag­ing way.
  • Build­ing and main­tain­ing home/​school part­ner­ships where school fam­i­lies sup­port is val­ued and encour­aged to pro­vide qual­i­ty out­comes for students.
  • Fos­ter­ing the well­be­ing of stu­dents in a Chris­t­ian edu­ca­tion environment

The suc­cess­ful appli­cant will be will­ing to work in our high­ly col­lab­o­ra­tive and effec­tive School team under the lead­er­ship of the Head of School

Posi­tion Requirements

The suc­cess­ful applicant/​s will have:

  • A liv­ing Chris­t­ian faith, with a vision for Chris­t­ian education.

  • Pas­sion­ate about stu­dents and their learning.

  • Excel­lent skills in build­ing rela­tion­ships with stu­dents, par­ents and colleagues.

  • Demon­strat­ed teach­ing expe­ri­ence and lead­er­ship (if rel­e­vant to the position).

  • Sound judge­ment.

  • Excel­lent writ­ten and ver­bal com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills.

  • High­ly devel­oped admin­is­tra­tive skills.

  • Char­ac­ter traits that include humil­i­ty, hon­esty, self­less­ness & integrity.

  • Cur­rent Tas­man­ian Teach­ers Reg­is­tra­tion or eli­gi­ble to be registered.

  • Cur­rent Tas­man­ian Work­ing with Vul­ner­a­ble Peo­ple Card or eli­gi­ble to hold.

  • Cur­rent First Aid Cer­tifi­cate to the lev­el of HLTAID011.

  • A writ­ten ref­er­ence from your pas­tor or minister.

A vacan­cy cur­rent­ly exists for imme­di­ate filling. 

Ide­al­ly the suc­cess­ful appli­cant will com­mence work in Term 3, with con­tin­ued employ­ment in 2025 as an ongo­ing per­ma­nent staff member.
