This 30 minute event will focus on challenging participants to consider the following question: Does Pedagogy Matter?
During this session participants will have the opportunity to:
- Consider the extent to which Early Years education is seemingly dominated by a variety of well-known teaching approaches, theories and practices. For example, The Reggio Emilia Approach, The Montessori Method, Highscope, and Emergent Curriculum, to name a few.
- Consider how, with the practitioners of each approach enthusiastically proclaiming the merits of their methods over those of others, Early Years Educators are often left bewildered as to which approach to follow or ‘cherry-pick’ ideas from.
- Be presented with an alternative way of looking at the Early Years pedagogy conundrum, and provided with a simple solution to permanently resolve the confusion.
