Who is speaking

Tim Chugg & Ruth Croser (IST Inclusion Support Consultants) and Matt Ryan (ACARA CRRE HPE Team Lead) and Genevieve & Kristen (Our Watch Principal Advisors).
This full day event will focus on Matt Ryan (ACARA CRRE HPE Team Lead) unpacking the CRRE curriculum connections resources including new web hub content via a live webinar workshop.
The CRRE content in the Australian Curriculum has been informed by research conducted and resources developed by OurWatch.
Our Watch Principal Advisors Genevieve and Kristen will work with participants in person during the workshop to build understanding re: Respectful Relationships education and whole school approaches to preventing gender based violence.

During this event, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Be informed regarding the consent and respectful relationships content within the HPE learning area and resources developed by ACARA and OurWatch to support schools in CRRE
  • Be given specific actions to translate into school policies, frameworks and practices to support building protective, respectful school communities.

About our guest speakers:

ACARA is the national body that develops the Australian Curriculum; their team leads are the Curriculum specialists in their areas.

Matthew Ryan is an experienced HPE Teacher of 20 years across primary and secondary contexts. With experience leading system-wide curriculum design, professional learning and policy advice.

Our Watch is a national leader in the primary prevention of violence against women and their children in Australia.

The Commonwealth and Victorian governments established Our Watch as a key initiative under the National Plan to Prevent Violence Against Women and their Children in June 2013.

Our Watch works with ACARA in resource development in CRRE and with school sectors around Australia in building safe, respectful, protective school communities.
