Literacy Curriculum Planning Workshops

We would like to invite you to attend a series of workshops designed to support you to ensure your school is on track to deliver an evidenced-based Literacy approach that meets the mandated requirements of both the Minimum Schooling Guarantee and OER’s Re-registration documentation.

Throughout 2024, these four practical workshops will offer advice and support to facilitate a whole-school approach to Literacy planning and instruction.

Participants will co-develop customisable, comprehensive curriculum documents that suit their individual educational setting. Developing thorough, detailed scope and sequences will support teachers’ cognitive load, reduce their planning time, and enable them to focus on the ‘how,’ rather than the ‘what,’ of teaching. These planning documents also promote consistency, thereby reducing the ‘teacher lottery’ across year levels.

The customisable documentation will include:

  • P-6 Literacy scope and sequences
  • Year-level planning
  • Unit planning
  • Weekly planning
  • Daily planning - including suggestions for literacy block.
