This full-day event will focus on:
- Wellbeing considerations and supports for students who are culturally and linguistically diverse.
- Additional considerations when supporting CALD students in areas of cyber-safety, bullying and abusericulum development and the Aboriginal community.
During this event, participants will have the opportunity to:
- Learn key strategies for engaging with diverse cultures
- Learn how to address bias in education
- Be informed regarding issues related to generalisation and labelling.
- Be guided regarding useful resources to support student and family voice (TIS interpreting services etc).
About our guest speaker:
Welcome Services provides practical assistance and guidance to multicultural communities as they settle in Tasmania.
This support may include help with language acquisition, employment opportunities, housing, education, and accessing essential services.
Additionally, Welcome serves as a hub for community engagement and networking, offering cultural events, workshops, and information sessions to foster cross-cultural understanding and integration.
